| Lucia Anguissola (c.1540-1565) was the younger sister of Sofonisba Anguissola. She studied with her sister and painted religious subjects and portraits. Only two works can be attributed directly to Lucia - one copy of a religious painting and the above portrait of Pietro Maria. Her style is quite mature and dignified for her age. Her life was short and she died in her mid-twenties. |
